Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state and national science standards.
- Teach a range of science courses, potentially including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active learning.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and monitor student progress through tests, projects, lab activities, and assignments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and understanding.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Prepare students for standardized tests and college entrance exams in science.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary content and enhance the overall curriculum.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
- Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
- Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- State teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Science.
- Proven experience teaching high school science, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting experiments.
- Experience with inquiry-based and hands-on learning approaches.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools for science education.
