Bendel is a manufacturer of stainless steel and alloy vessels and heat exchangers up to 75,000 gallons and 15’ diameter.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team on the night shift, specializing in the fabrication and welding of components for tanks and vessels. The ideal candidate will interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute precise layouts, utilizing specialized welding techniques including TIG, MIG, and plasma cutting, with experience in welding, fabricating, and fitting. This position works 6pm-6am M-Th with opportunity for overtime depending on workload.

Primary functions and duties:

1. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
2. Use specialized welding equipment including TIG, MIG, and plasma cutters.
3. Fit, fabricate, and weld components to tanks and vessels such as nozzles, manways, ladders, handrails, and platforms.
4. Follow and enforce strict shop safety regulations such as wearing safety glasses, heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
5. Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
6. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
7. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
8. Work 40 hrs./week minimum plus OT as needed based on workload.
9. Work with team members to ensure top quality and high standards while welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and high nickel alloys.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

1. Ability to read blueprints and utilize those to lay out work and build products.
2. Ability to read and understand measurements.
3. Experience in layout, fitting, and welding nozzles and other parts inside and out per the drawings.
4. Ability to operate an overhead crane.
5. Must pass ASME 6G SCH.80 (SA312TP316L) 2" pipe test using GTAW process.
6. Must pass ASME 2G plate (SA36 & SA240-304) test using GMAW process.
7. Must pass a drug test and background check.
8. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work safely from a ladder.
9. Able to work inside a tank/vessel.
10. Must have TIG & MIG welding experience.

Salary:

$52,000 to $67,000 depending on experience and skills
