Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Adult Psychiatrist to fill an opening that provides specialty behavioral health services to Medi-Cal recipients and uninsured, located in Kern County, CA.
Requirements of the Adult Psychiatrist:
- Board Certification/Eligibility in General Psychiatry: ABPN certification in General Psychiatry.
- California Medical License: Active status with no disciplinary actions.
- DEA Certification: Required for antipsychotics and long-acting injectables (e.g., clozapine).
Schedule of the Adult Psychiatrist:
- This is a full-time, part-time, or telepsychiatry-based position, depending on clinic needs.
- Full-Time (FTE):
- Shift: 8-hour day.
- Part-Time (PTE): Shift: 6 hours (e.g., 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., excluding breaks).
- Telepsychiatry: Extended Hours: Optional 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. slots for working adults.

Job Description of the Adult Psychiatrist:
Adult Psychiatrists manage treatment-resistant schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression in outpatient and acute care settings. This role includes forensic responsibilities such as LPS Act evaluations and testimony in conservatorship hearings.
Job Responsibilities of the Adult Psychiatrist:
- Prescribe and monitor clozapine therapy for treatment-resistant schizophrenia, including ANC monitoring and titration protocols.
- Lead biweekly multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care for high utilizers of crisis stabilization services.
- Complete capacity assessments for gravely disabled patients under Welfare & Institutions Code 5150/5250.
- Utilize long-acting injectables (LAIs) for medication non-adherence, including aripiprazole once-monthly and paliperidone palmitate.
