Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Addison Group is partnering with a growing manufacturing services company to recruit an Inventory Cost Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in inventory costing, streamlining accounting processes, and overseeing month-end and annual close. This role will focus on cost accounting, inventory management, and collaborating closely with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The position will report to the Assistant Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including cost accounting, valuation, and tracking of inventory movements across various divisions and entities.
  • Implement and maintain processes for accurate and timely monthly and annual inventory close.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory cost allocations, including standard cost systems, inventory adjustments, and reconciliation of inventory accounts.
  • Review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, including the correct treatment of inventory and related cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams to develop and refine inventory control procedures, ensuring proper documentation and internal controls are in place.
  • Work closely with the operations team to analyze cost drivers, identify inefficiencies, and recommend cost-saving measures related to inventory and production processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis related to inventory and product costing.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on inventory-related metrics, providing insights to senior leadership and assisting with strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience managing inventory and cost accounting in a mid to large company.
  • CPA or prior public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, particularly in inventory management and cost accounting.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring an accounting team.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments and levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex inventory data and provide actionable insights.

Our client offers:

$125,000 to $140,000 base salary range dependent on experience. Annual bonus target offered.
