Goodwill Silicon Valley Career Technical Education Program (CTE) provides clients with a pathway towards securing long-term employment and developing personal and professional growth by hosting no-cost, short-term, entry-level skills training across a variety of trade-specific fields.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a program to establish and maintain an employment pipeline for GWSV CTE graduates.
  • Analyze labor market trends and conduct extensive employer research to identify likely career training demands in the next 5-10 years; distill this information and share it with the GWSV leadership and CTE teams.
  • Build relationships with local companies to present GWSV’s CTE program offerings and cultivate a slate of prospective employers who will regularly consider GWSV CTE training graduates as candidates for employment and will proactively work with GWSV CTE to train individuals to fill their open positions.
  • Regularly assess the quality and outcomes of GWSV CTE programs to ensure alignment with the needs of local employers.
  • Maintain pre-established standards for cold-calling, employer meetings, and securing agreements with employers to consider GWSV CTE graduates as candidates for employment.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help ensure the continued growth and success of the CTE program.
  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking job search activity of GWSV CTE graduates and providing regular coaching and guidance to help ensure that they successfully secure employment.
  • Act as the liaison between employers and GWSV employment specialists, as needed.
  • Formally present GWSV’s programs to local communities and groups as needed.
  • Maintain complete client documentation, including detailed notes of all employer and client interactions with services provided, and records of services delivered, including employability workshops.
  • Collect, interpret, and disseminate relevant program data and information as needed.
  • Conduct outreach and community engagement activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field. A minimum of five years of relevant work experience: working independently on projects, with companies, and/or marketing and outreach, or in an economic development capacity.
  • Experience with outside sales, building professional relationships, and networking.
  • Public speaking experience.

Equipment Used

  • Computer, telephone, and copy machine.
  • Case management software; Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Valid CA driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Reliable personal vehicle.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Must be computer literate. Knowledge of MS Office and the Google Suite of Applications (Google Drive, Google Sheet, Google Docs, and Google Slides) required.

Working Conditions

  • The job is performed indoors in a climatically controlled setting in cooperation with co-workers. There is regular contact with the public, business and community agencies. The position requires minimal supervision.

Emotional Effort

  • Moderate: Occasional short deadlines. The work environment is occasionally hectic with occasional high activity, with great emphasis on teamwork.

Physical Requirements

  • The job involves sedentary and light work. Light work requires lifting no more than 20 lbs and frequent lifting and or carrying items weighing 10 lbs.
  • Light work differs from sedentary work in that it requires substantially more walking and standing.
