Department: Grounds Maintenance
Job Summary: The Grounds Keeper is responsible for all operational aspects of the Grounds Maintenance department at Magic Springs Theme and Water Park. This individual must ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the guests and employees in and around the attractions and other areas throughout the park. This individual is responsible for completing daily tasks assigned by their supervisor and working alongside other Team Members to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of the park landscape.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to understand and follow department training programs.
- Follow all department’s standard operating procedures (SOP) and safety protocols.
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed correctly, safely, and on time.
- Follow safety protocols and the use of proper PPE for the assigned task.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are turned in and adequately maintained daily.
- Report any equipment that needs repair or replacement to the Supervisor immediately.
- Execute any additional duties and projects assigned by management.
- Other daily duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining Plants: plant, fertilize, water, and trim all trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers.
- Mowing and trimming: keep grasses, weeds, and overgrowth trimmed/weeded.
- Weed Control: use herbicides in landscape areas and walkways.
- Raking/blowing and mulching: Remove leaves and add mulch to beds.
- Caring for landscape features: Maintain fountains, planters, and beds.
- Equipment maintenance: Tend to groundskeeping tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Seasonal Hourly Position.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Assertive and self-motivated.
- Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work up to 40 hours a week throughout the season.
- Ability to maintain excellent attendance and be punctual.
- Must be able to follow direction given to them by their supervisor and/or management.
- Must be able to work well with other Team Members and departments to accomplish the objectives of the company.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, garden tools, small engine equipment.
- Experience is recommended but not required to operate heavy equipment such as a backhoe, forklift, mini excavator, etc.
- Must be willing and able to undergo training to operate any of the equipment mentioned above.

- Must be able to walk or stand for up to 8 hours a shift.
- Requires kneeling and bending.
- Requires reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
- Requires occasional lifts and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Requires occasional carries that may exceed 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck or other equipment.
- Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, hand/eye coordination, near vision. This is a very physical job.
- Requires the ability to withstand harsh weather conditions (summer heat/winter cold) for up to 8 hours a shift.
