The Facilities Management Division (FMD) is actively recruiting a senior-level commercial real estate professional to manage the Solid Waste Division’s real property portfolio, including both urban and undeveloped properties. The developed properties include Harbor Island, transfer stations, landfills, residential and commercial properties, and this position is the central coordinator for all property-related issues. Undeveloped areas include closed landfills, and this position will assess future use or reforestation as each reaches closure.
This position is distinguished as the management-recognized expert, requiring minimal supervision to oversee complex, visible, and challenging real estate negotiations for critical real estate projects. This position involves collaboration with multiple business units within the county, including but not limited to; King County Client Agencies, Executive-Level Management, Capital Projects Section, Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget, and King County Council.
This position commands acute expertise in the Commercial Real Estate industry. The desired candidate will lead all work with a client-focused lens, provide unparalleled service to the Solid Waste Division, and have a keen understanding of all aspects of property acquisitions, disposals, easements, lease negotiations, market trends, brokerage relationships, and client relationship management.

FMD is the Facilities Management Division within King County Executive Services. A part of FMD Is the Health Through Housing Initiative. Through innovative partnerships and close collaboration with city governments, service providers, and local communities, HTH acquires former hotels and other existing buildings and converts them into apartments that are dignified, affordable, and service enriched. HTH offers two types of housing, Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) and Emergency Supportive Housing (EH), both of which feature 24/7 staffing and supports.
