HART Technologies, Inc. is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our tactical systems development team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).
The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Engineers to deliver integrated products and services including: design and development, integration, and test activities of control systems and supporting hardware. Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components in support of tactical programs, ensuring adherence to defined program requirements and relevant standards for environmental protection, EMI/RFI shielding, and physical component protection.
Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) when appropriate for assigned products.
Utilize Finite Element Analysis and mechanical engineering skills for both new and existing designs, providing formal and informal feedback as to areas of improvement in cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
Ensure design compliance with applicable industry and government standards (CE, UL, etc.) for assigned products and recommend design materials based on performance requirements, weight limitations, and manufacturability.
Develop models and drawings of complex assemblies using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
Support hands-on integration and test activities.
Required:
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
Proficiency with 3D Modeling / Design and evaluation tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Ansys, Nastran).
Experience using manufacturing equipment to produce rapid prototypes; 3D printers, Laser Cutters, Waterjet, Milling Machines, Hand Tools, etc.
Knowledge of DOD and NATO standards and certification processes.
Active DoD Security Clearance is highly preferred.
