Cedar High School is seeking a Girls Head Cheer Coach.
This position will remain open until filled.
Responsibilities:
Coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition; motivating student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.
Holding organizational meetings for team prospects and encouraging potential athletes to participate in the sport.
Assessing player’s skills and assigning team positions.
Developing a regular practice schedule and organizing practice time to provide both individual and team development.
Working with the School Athletics Director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition.
Ensuring and monitoring training and certification compliance, mandated by Utah High School Athletic Association (UHSAA), for all assigned assistant coaches and volunteers.
Coaching and instructing players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
Observing players during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
Determining game strategy based on the team’s capabilities.
Establishing and maintaining standards of pupil behavior and providing proper supervision of athletes at all times.
Monitoring the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.
Following established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
Conferencing with parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the athletic performance of their student.
Following state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
Modeling sports-like behavior and maintaining appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
Acting as a team representative and promoting the sport by communicating with the news media, booster clubs, service clubs, and other organizations.
Responsible for scheduling travel requests and also turning in a "Spend Plan" annually.
Following established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
Working with the School Athletic Director to develop a policy for awards and submitting a list of award winners at the end of the season.
Participating in special activities to include banquets, award nights, and assemblies.
Maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records.
Modeling non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs, and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
