Position Summary: The Education Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Religious School, ensuring the implementation of high-quality Jewish education for students in a Conservative Jewish setting. The director will work closely with the Rabbi, education staff, and leadership to maintain and further develop a program that aligns with the synagogue's mission, vision, and values. The director will be responsible for the curriculum, teacher recruitment and support, student engagement, and fostering a positive educational environment for students, families, and educators alike. Key Responsibilities: Teacher Recruitment, Support, and Development Student Engagement & Family Involvement Youth and Community Programming Budget Management Community & Congregational Relationships Administrative & Operational Tasks Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Jewish Education, Jewish Studies, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Jewish education, with a strong understanding of Conservative Judaism. Proven leadership and strong organizational skills, with experience managing educational programs and staff. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage with students, families, and synagogue leadership. Ability to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for students, families, and staff. Familiarity with current trends in Jewish education, including the integration of technology and innovative teaching practices. Knowledge of Hebrew language and prayer is a plus, preferred but not required. Personal Characteristics: Passion for Jewish education and commitment to the values of Conservative Judaism. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, faculty, and community members. A creative and thoughtful approach to problem-solving and program development. Ability to work collaboratively with synagogue leadership, clergy, and staff. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Working Conditions: Part-time with the option for full time Flexible hours, with evening and weekend work required for school programs and events. Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000 – commensurate with experience and hours worked Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, parental leave, health plan or insurance premium assistance, participation in the Rabbinic Assembly Joint Retirement Board 403(b)(9) retirement plan, professional development funds, synagogue membership.
