The
City of Arvada
is seeking a chief executive officer to serve as its next
City Manager . As Arvada’s chief executive officer, you’ll be responsible for implementing the City Council’s priorities and leading the city’s strategic planning, policy development, and overall operations. As a visible and engaged leader, you will guide the city’s executive team and represent Arvada to the public, fostering trust and collaboration. Exciting opportunities face the next City Manager as Arvada is at the forefront of innovation and community impact with initiatives such as the Quantum Commons Technology Park, a comprehensive utilities master plan, and the Mountain Rail Exploration project enhancing access to mountain destinations while supporting sustainable transit. This position requires a master’s degree and at least ten (10) years of progressively responsible public sector management experience, with at least five years in senior leadership roles. Ability to meet bonding requirements and hold a valid Colorado driver’s license, and relocation to the City of Arvada within six months of appointment, are also required. Prior experience in an executive leadership role such as city or county manager, deputy or assistant city manager, or chief of staff in a large public sector organization or full-service city of similar size to Arvada (population 125,000 or more) is preferred, as is knowledge or experience with Home Rule.
