About the role: As part of the Global Sourcing organization, the Principal Supplier Engineer supports the technical aspects of development, commercialization, and sustaining procured medical device materials. With a focus on the Battery & Capacitor category, this role is responsible for assessing components against design requirements and partners with cross-functional teams to help develop, evaluate, and troubleshoot components through supplier interactions. The incumbent will serve as a technical expert to ensure quality and reliability can be repeated and reproduced throughout the life of products across all divisions. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time. Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with R&D to develop, evaluate, and qualify Battery & Capacitor chemical materials related components for use in medical device applications Understanding the manufacturing industry to assist with sourcing decisions regarding key suppliers Working with global suppliers to understand manufacturing processes and ensure quality and reliability can be repeated and reproduced throughout the life of the component(s) Partnering with suppliers and category team members to investigate supplied material issues, supply constraints and to support value improvement initiatives Investigating and evaluating new and existing technologies to improve the quality and reliability and/or for value improvement purposes for current and future components Performing technical tasks such as executing engineering change requests and supplier change impact assessments to ensure component performance and material regulation compliance; complete component qualification reports Maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures to support the BSC commitment to patient safety and product quality Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline or applied science with a minimum 7 years engineering experience Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external teams Presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels Ability to travel up to 20% globally Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (i.e. mechanical, chemical, biomedical, electrical) or materials science Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers Experience with battery and capacitor chemistry and raw materials Experience working in medical device or similarly regulated industry Working knowledge of statistical methods, six sigma and DOE Self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Requisition ID: 600330 Minimum Salary: $99,100 Maximum Salary: $188,300 The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for
non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles
may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Compensation for
