Novastone Capital Advisors We are looking for a seasoned Head of Portfolio Management with a strong background in Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Search Funds who possesses extensive experience of what it takes to manage and grow portfolio companies in the United States & Canada. The role is pivotal to the success of Novastone Capital Advisors, as it involves maximizing value by actively participating in the strategic decision-making processes of NCA’s portfolio companies and closely monitoring their performance throughout the investment lifecycle. Please note that while board participation is a minor aspect of the role, the primary responsibilities are highly dynamic and hands-on with a focus on providing clear financial metrics, direction and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. a consulting position. Main Responsibilities: Value Creation & Strategic Guidance Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic growth and value creation plans. Act as a ‘sparring partner’ for CEOs in building and executing value creation plans and potential exit strategies. Provide strategic insights and guidance to ensure the alignment of company goals with broader organizational objectives. Serve on the Board of Directors of NCA portfolio companies. Track financial metrics, operational performance, and overall business health of portfolio companies. Identify and manage potential risks by assessing market conditions, industry trends, and challenges that could impact performance. Ensure portfolio companies are on track to meet their goals and deliver expected returns for investors. Maintain a high level of oversight to protect investor interests and ensure transparency and accountability. Communications & Stakeholder Relations Facilitate effective communication between CEOs and all stakeholders, in coordination with the NCA Investor Relations Team. Share financial reports and strategic updates with stakeholders. Support the alignment of interests between portfolio company management and investors. Explore and implement joint value-creation initiatives between NCA portfolio companies. Foster strong relationships with investors to build trust and ensure ongoing support for portfolio companies. Must Have: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. MBA or CFA preferred. 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, with a focus on Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Search Funds. Strong financial acumen and ability to track and analyze financial and operational performance metrics. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with CEOs and other senior executives. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results. Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to travel. Nice to Have: MBA or other advanced degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and exit strategies. Proven track record of working with international companies and managing cross-border investments. Strong network of industry contacts and relationships with potential co-investors and partners. Extensive experience in conducting due diligence and managing investment portfolios.
