Director, Workforce Development

DeKalb County seeks a dynamic and experienced Director, Workforce Development to lead the County's employment and training initiatives and departmental activities funded via the US Department of Labor, in collaboration with the Workforce Investment Board, and the Georgia Governor's Office of Workforce Development. The ideal candidate will have:
A passion for serving the community, including individuals in disadvantaged situations, recipients of public assistance, low-income families, and individuals who are deficient in basic skills
Experience as the director or deputy director of a grant-funded metropolitan area workforce development program, including providing oversight, planning, and financial accountability
Proven success and expertise in project management and operational planning related to grant-funded programs, including implementation of programmatic budgets according to grant guidelines; and strategic financial planning to ensure program sustainability
Experience analyzing statistical program data to provide regular updates to federal grant managers and County officials
Experience building partnerships with area businesses, community leaders, and the public; and proven leadership hosting successful employment outreach events involving the community
Leadership experience that includes staff motivation, mentoring/coaching, and continuous improvement
This position is non-merit and serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
Salary Range: $150,000+ depending on education and experience
