Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting
Our client is a publicly traded manufacturing organization looking for a Director, SEC & Technical Accounting. This is an onsite position reporting to their corporate office in the San Fernando Valley. Summary of the role Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Collaborate with management, external auditors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate SEC filings. Play a key role in the review and preparation of the Company’s SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, 8-K, Form 4, and other public reports. Oversee technical accounting research and documentation, preparing technical accounting memoranda to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and other regulatory standards. Lead the end-to-end process of SEC filings, including the preparation and submission of required documents and exhibits. Possess advanced knowledge of stock-based compensation and oversee equity management in coordination with third-party providers. Manage the quarterly review, year-end audit, and regulatory review processes with external auditors. Perform quarterly debt covenant analysis and reporting. Demonstrate expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition principles. Assist in maintaining SOX compliance related to internal controls over financial reporting. Provide ad hoc financial reports and insights to leadership team as needed. Participate in cross-departmental projects to enhance operational efficiencies. Review and provide guidance on financial analyses prepared by other team members. Qualifications & Requirements: 3+ years of experience in public accounting or public company reporting. Public accounting background (Big 4 strongly preferred). CPA strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with financial disclosure platforms such as Workiva/WDesk. Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred. Seniority level
