This position is a full-time exempt, benefit eligible position, including: medical, dental, life, long-term disability, EAP, 12 paid holidays a year and 31 days of PTO (in Year 1!). Additionally, we offer a 403b and match after 1 year, and offer the option to enroll in many other supplementary benefits. We offer a casual work environment and the week between Christmas and New Years off! We also offer 2 days work from home (not including February and March) after 6 months of employment. The Director of Member Engagement is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a comprehensive year-round recruitment plan for girl and adult traditional troop membership throughout the council’s 38-county region. This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Member Engagement Team and Volunteers, and for working in tandem with the Director of Member Services and Director of Volunteer Experience and Education to ensure exceptional tools, systems, procedures and processes are in place and available to serve members. As a member of the council management team, this position will work in collaboration with all management to establish and integrate the council’s operational strategies. Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive recruitment plans for membership growth. Lead, motivate, and supervise the Member Engagement Team. Provide strategic oversight and champion efforts related to council strategic recruitment goals. Develop and implement community cultivation strategies to elevate and enhance visibility of the Girl Scout program. Lead the development of resources to support the recruitment strategy. Ensure recruitment strategies and plans are consistent with the mission of Girl Scouting and the organizational strategy. Work in partnership with other council functions to support organizational mission, goals, and strategic priorities. Align objectives and plans with other council initiatives and projects. Represent the recruitment function on the management team. Ensure efficient collaboration between the Member Engagement Team and all Membership and Council staff. Collaborate with all department Directors to ensure the effective implementation of the recruitment strategy. Develop and manage departmental budgets. Performs other duties as necessary or assigned. Employment Requirements

Be a registered Girl Scout member or willing to become one. Believe in the mission of Girl Scouting with the ability to communicate the mission to others. Interpret and support GSUSA and council policies and standard procedures. Uphold the code of conduct as outlined in the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois Employee Handbook. Represent the organization professionally and uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Be at least 21 years of age. Team player with excellent customer service skills. Be familiar with safety rules and regulations and take reasonable steps to ensure one’s own health and safety, and that of others, and inform manager of any hazard. Be a positive and cooperative employee, willing to share resources and expertise. Ability to pass a criminal and background check. Ability to provide two professional references, with one being a previous supervisor. Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, preferred. Equivalent combination of education and work experience with proven member retention and customer engagement success acceptable. Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing teams of 10 employees or more. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including oral and written communication. Knowledge and application of effective customer service principles. Comfortable and able to use telephone to converse with customers. Work independently and as part of a cross functional team. Demonstrate ability to meet goals. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends. Maintain reliable transportation for daily travel. Ability for occasional overnight travel when needed to conduct council business. Valid transportation and current, valid driver’s license and minimum state auto insurance required. Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Experience in customer relationship management software or other call center or data tracking system. Physical Requirements

Office work environment. Able to sit upright and work at a computer for several hours at a time. Capable of lifting 35 lbs. Frequent sitting and reaching.
