Summary: The HR Generalist will have experience in Human Resources. This position will be in the Conway, SC manufacturing facility, working with the HR Manager. The HR Generalist collaborates with managers to implement all aspects of the HR programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in various human resource plans and procedures for company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  2. Assists in the hourly performance evaluation program for Pageland plant.
  3. Assist in the benefits administration function, which will include claims resolution, change reporting, verifying invoices for payment and employee communication.
  4. Able to be the backup if needed for maintaining an affirmative action program and coordinating the filing associated with the program.
  5. Conducts new-employee orientations as needed.
  6. Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  7. Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
  8. Represents the company for unemployment claims when HR Manager is unavailable.
  9. Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  10. Assists in continual improvement efforts of the department.
  11. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  12. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma/GED
  2. 2-5 years related experience preferably in a corporate office setting.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex information in an approachable manner.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships.
  5. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  6. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline
  2. Prior knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to exercise sound judgment.
  4. Detail oriented ability to multi-task, and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
  5. Professionalism and the ability to translate company mission and culture into staff centered activities and services.
  6. Integrity by working with passion, commitment, honesty, and acting in the best interests of the company and staff.
  7. A collaborating and caring manner interacting with insight, sincerity, and compassion.
  8. SHRM certification preferred.
  9. Recognition and respect for diversity in all forms.
