The Building People, LLC, has a position open for an
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Engineer
who will be our primary representative and a self motivated resource for our team in our rapidly expanding connected infrastructure division. Our team, which already includes a nationwide presence in Master Systems Integration across the federal environment, has a number opportunities to help build and expand an industrial/metering controls department, so this position will necessarily join an help lead an innovative solution (as part of our larger MSI team architecture). Specific responsibilities are to include:
Conduct site visits and assessments at client facilities to better understand energy infrastructure and energy loads, specifically to locate and classify various utility meter types, including electric, gas, water, or steam. Participate in initial planning, on-site visit logistics, and post-survey closeout reporting functions with project team members. Travel to multiple project sites within a defined region, on a routine basis, and maintain communication and relationships with site stakeholders. Apply subject matter knowledge of building systems to the review of facility plans and drawings, asset inventories, and technical specifications to determine the operating status of existing energy meters. Provide recommendations for meter repairs and replacements as well as identify suitable locations for the installation of new meters or submeters per client requests or project team recommendations.
Required Experience & Skills
Experience with building design and trade disciplines involving the management of critical building systems
Experience with conducting site visits and assessments at client facilities
Experience with assessing conditions of energy infrastructure, including metering systems, such as , quality, quantity, and vulnerability
Experience with collaborating with customers, trade contractors, building inspectors, and building service providers
Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to obtain a basic civilian security clearance
5 Years+ overall in demonstrated, related experience
Experience & Skills
Experience with conducting building energy audits or facility condition assessments
Knowledge of environmental, sustainability, and energy efficiency regulations, executive orders, and consensus standards
Experience working with diverse project types and technologies
Experience with Federal government agencies, including EPA, GSA, or DoD
Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups
Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
Possession of excellent problem-solving and project skills
Required Education
