Primary Purpose
The Board Treasurer provides care and custody of district moneys.
Qualifications
Education/Certification(s)/License(s):
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two years of college or business college preferred.
Able to be bonded in an amount determined by the board.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Possess business and accounting skills.
Ability to use necessary computer programs.
Possess skills suitable for using a variety of office equipment.
Able to work well with board members, employees, patrons, and other appropriate individuals or groups.
Able to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely and helpful manner.
Experience:
5 years accounting experience at a high level of responsibility preferred.
Essential Job Functions
Duties/Responsibilities: When requested, attend all meetings of the Board. Maintains custody or and receives all money belonging to the district. Deposits moneys received in accounts designated by the Board in accordance with state law. Gives detailed accounts of money received and disbursed at least once a month at the regular meeting of the Board and at other times as the Board may request. Prepares and submits a monthly report on the district's fiscal status to the board and superintendent. Prepares and submits such other reports as are required by the board or by law. Renders a full annual report at the end of each fiscal year. Comply with all district policies, rules, and regulations. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Board of Education that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position. Mental Demands/Physical Requirement/Environmental Conditions:
Requires the ability to maintain emotional control while under stress and in stressful situations. Requires the ability to frequently work prolonged and irregular hours. Requires the ability to frequently sit for prolonged periods of time. Requires the ability to use standard office equipment including computer and peripherals and other instructional equipment for prolonged periods of time. Requires the ability to frequently use repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding and mouse use. Requires the ability to occasionally bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, or reach. Requires the ability to frequently lift and carry items 25 lbs. or less. Requires the ability to work and concentrate in noisy and crowded environments. Requires timeliness and regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
