POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Accounting will be responsible administratively for the fiscal affairs of Hot Springs School District.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To direct financial accounting To oversee all financial operations of the district To assist the superintendent in preparation of the budget To oversee health insurance, dental insurance programs and other fringe benefit programs for employees, maintain all specified insurance records, and account for all revenue received by Hot Springs School District To be responsible for the disbursement of district, organization, and any other appropriate funds upon the presentation of properly approved claims, payrolls, and other bills To collaborate with the superintendent and appropriate staff in supervising the budget for secondary textbooks, athletics, workforce education, choir, band, instructional and K-12 library supplies To ensure that all bank accounts and county treasurer's reports are verified monthly To maintain postage accounts and ensure cost-effective postal operations To complete financial reports and statements that are the result of the accounting function To perform internal audits as necessary To be responsible for the submission of the Superintendent's Annual Financial Report To procure all district funds, both state and local, that go directly to the Treasurer of Garland County To report to the superintendent on the business affairs of the school district and recommend any changes and improvements which should be made To supervise extended day employees To be involved with human resources at the direction of the superintendent To enter fixed assets in eFinance To oversee, monitor, and maintain all third party/external contracts (SSC/ Chartwells) To serve as the child nutrition director To create/submit Disbursement report once a month for board meeting To perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by employee's supervisor, the principal, or the superintendent

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree with an accredited educational institution in a job related field. Other requirements per job description; i.e. on-going training for new educational finance laws.

EXPERIENCE

Three years experience in educational finance or job related field. Other requirements per job description.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Hand-eye and mind-eye coordination. Constant hearing; intermittent speaking, standing, walking and writing. Frequent carrying, keyboarding, and other repetitive movements. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects often.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Skills in human relations, leadership, and conflict management. Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students. Demonstrated skills in the use of technology to enhance student learning.
