Seeking a skillful, motivated, responsible full-time Dental Assistant to join the San Benito Health Foundation (SBHF) Community Health Center's team. We are a thriving, growing community health center in San Benito County, providing high quality medical, dental, and nutritional services to a multicultural population.

Great opportunity for new Dental Assistants looking to make a difference at the community level and work with a dental team to provide preventive dental care to a multicultural patient population. We believe in the practice of evidence-based dentistry and stay current with the latest scientific American Dental Association approved dentistry recommendations.

The Dental Assistant is a vital part of the Patient Centered Health Home model. Along with the dental team, he or she will provide preventive dental care and is cross-trained through the various departments to offer optimal service to our patient population.

The Dental Assistant is a full-time position responsible for assisting the dentist and dental hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients of the center. Dental Assistants play a vital role in dental procedures and in the dental practice. Their tasks include:

1. Seating the patient and verifying the patient's identity
2. Obtaining vitals
3. Preparing the chair for the procedure, including obtaining x-rays prescribed by the provider
4. First assisting the provider during the procedure and cleaning up (sterilizing)
5. Preparing patients for oral examination
6. Assisting in providing treatment and all aspects of chair-side assisting
7. Documenting in the Electronic Health Records System (EHR)
8. Assisting Hygienist and other duties assigned

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program
• Current State of California X-Ray License
• Current CPR Certification
• Basic Computer Skills
• Current and Valid California's Driver's License
• Bilingual / Spanish is a must
