Salary: €170k - €180k (Dependent on experience)

Role: Head of Design – Beauty & Fragrance

Reports to: Managing Director & Founder
As part of the company’s ambitious growth, we are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Design to lead the creative direction for beauty and fragrance packaging and product design . This role is integral in shaping the future of the brand’s cosmetics, fragrance, and luxury packaging , ensuring a distinctive aesthetic that aligns with the brand’s heritage and innovation.
The Head of Design will build and manage a team of designers, overseeing the full creative process from conceptualization to final production. This role requires a deep understanding of the luxury beauty industry , material innovation, and consumer trends in high-end cosmetics and fragrance. The ideal candidate will bring a refined creative vision, technical expertise, and leadership ability to elevate the brand’s product portfolio and packaging design to new heights of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, and lead a talented design team specializing in beauty and fragrance product and packaging design .
- Foster an environment of innovation and excellence , inspiring the team to develop elegant, high-end designs that define luxury.
- Set the creative vision and strategic direction for beauty and fragrance collections, ensuring designs reflect the brand’s commitment to refinement and exclusivity.
- Oversee the conceptual development of packaging and products, guiding the team from ideation to final prototypes .
- Develop sketches, renderings, and detailed design documentation , ensuring brand identity is reflected in all designs.
Collaboration with Executive Team & Stakeholders
- Partner closely with the Managing Director and Founders to align on creative goals and brand positioning for all collections.
- Present creative concepts and prototypes to senior leadership, articulating the brand’s vision and the inspiration behind each design.
- Incorporate strategic feedback to refine designs, ensuring that all products are aligned with the brand’s story, craftsmanship, and exclusivity .
360-Degree Product & Packaging Development
- Oversee the entire design-to-production cycle for beauty and fragrance packaging and products, ensuring seamless execution from concept to final product.
- Lead the sourcing of premium materials and finishes , working with suppliers to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Ensure all beauty and fragrance products meet the brand’s strict luxury benchmarks , maintaining consistency in design execution and innovation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Brand Integration
- Partner with Branding and Marketing teams to create a cohesive visual and storytelling experience , ensuring consistency across all consumer touchpoints.
- Work closely with Retail and Merchandising teams to align product and packaging designs with in-store and e-commerce experiences .
- Collaborate with Production and Product Development teams to ensure that prototypes and final products maintain the integrity of the initial creative concept.
Market Trends & Innovation
- Research and analyze global beauty and fragrance trends , staying at the forefront of innovation in luxury materials, packaging techniques, and consumer preferences .
- Leverage market insights and competitor analysis to ensure the brand remains a leader in luxury beauty and fragrance.
- Identify new opportunities for creative innovation , expanding the product portfolio with cutting-edge, sophisticated designs that set new industry benchmarks.
Key Qualifications
Experience:
- 8-10+ years of experience in luxury beauty and fragrance product and packaging design .
- Proven experience leading and managing a design team, recruiting top creative talent, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to execute a design vision from concept through to final production , ensuring alignment with the brand’s identity.
Creative & Technical Skills:
- Strong sketching, rendering, and CAD skills , with the ability to visualize and articulate creative concepts.
- Extensive knowledge of luxury materials, sustainable packaging, and innovative design techniques .
- A deep understanding of beauty and fragrance product development , including component selection, manufacturing processes, and material sourcing.
Industry Knowledge & Vision:
- Established relationships with luxury suppliers, vendors, and production partners within the beauty and fragrance industry.
- A refined creative vision with exceptional attention to detail, a passion for timeless elegance, and the ability to push boundaries in luxury packaging and product design .
Leadership & Organizational Skills:
- Strong leadership abilities , capable of inspiring and managing a design team while driving creative innovation.
- Highly organized with excellent project management skills , able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with senior executives, ensuring alignment between creative direction and brand strategy.
