Design Engineer


Duties:

  • Collaborate with customers, engineers, and designers to produce a system or product design to fit the scope of work
  • Review and comprehend customer generated specifications and requirements.
  • Create/maintain 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings defining and documenting manufacturing information.

               Collaborate closely with internal and external manufacturing departments to ensure accurate and timely manufacturing of components.

  • Create bills of materials.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and to ensure designs meet required specifications and regulatory standards
  • Create customer documentation such as user manuals, spare parts lists, maintenance manuals and drawings. Drawings include Mechanical assemblies, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams.

 

Requirements:


  • Experience using 3D CAD system – SolidWorks
  • Experience using 2D CAD system - AutoCAD
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant degree or practical work experience.
  • 5 Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous manufacturing experience dealing with saw, burn, cut and drill technologies, sheet metal fabrication
  • Demonstrate experience in previous design work.
  • Fluent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Effective spoken and written communication skills
  • The ability to operate both independently and in a collaborative, team environment.



Other Preferred Requirements and Skills:


  • Ability to research and specify key components that are fit for purpose.
  • Experience with mechanical piping/valve engineering and design
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and coordination skills
  • FEA software experience.
  • Previous experience or exposure to ASME pressure vessel design
  • Ability to read and understand P & ID diagrams
