Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead capital improvement initiatives at our recently acquired Biofuels & Distilled Spirits facility in Wahpeton, ND. This role will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all capital projects to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.

  • Oversee a multi-million-dollar capital expenditure budget, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage upgrades to electro-mechanical systems, including control systems, electrical infrastructure, switch gears, blowers, tank & piping systems, and facility improvements.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors and engineering firms to drive project execution.
  • Develop and implement a strategic, multi-year facility improvement plan aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Assess and justify future capital investments based on cost-benefit analysis and operational needs.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing capital improvement and construction projects within manufacturing (experience in food/food ingredient manufacturing is preferred).
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics (heating and cooling equipment) and mechanical design (CAD experience is a plus).
  • Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgeting, contractor negotiations, and vendor relations.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
