Senior Sharepoint/Power Platform Developer/Analyst (Shelton, CT)
Role Overview
The Senior SharePoint/Power Platform Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting custom business applications, automated workflows, and other technical deliverables using the Microsoft Power Platform, primarily within the SharePoint environment.
SharePoint/Power Platform Development
- Build cost-effective, high-value solutions leveraging SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, SQL Databases, BI, and other tools in conjunction with customized code, APIs, and 3rd party add-ons.
- Configure, monitor, and manage permissions, user access, and security settings in SharePoint and Power Apps.
- Perform technical feasibility assessments to identify which development platform best meets the specific project criteria.
- Stay informed about current and new technical advancements, add-on tools, and capabilities to enhance both new and existing applications.
Business Analysis/Project Management
- Collaborate with teams from diverse areas of the business to translate complex business requirements into applications that yield significant business value, streamline business processes, and optimize efficiency.
- Assess and prioritize requests from the business to ensure that the projects we accept are cost-effective, fully supported by senior leadership, and achieve quantifiable KPIs established in advance.
- Create task lists and adapt the schedule as needed to ensure that the team meets established delivery deadlines.
- Apply agile lifecycle methodologies and other best practices to prevent scope creep and keep projects on track.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience building custom SharePoint sites and applications.
- 1+ years’ experience with PowerApps development and deployment (canvas and data-driven), including form design and workflow integration.
- Experience with full software development lifecycle including translating business requirements into system requirements, analysis, research, prototyping, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Experience producing technical documentation including functional specifications, user manuals, training presentations, business requirements, and other deliverables.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in software development or computer engineering)
- Master’s degree in software engineering (preferred)
- Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification is a plus.
Technical competencies & skills
- Microsoft Power Platform tools and applications including Power Apps (canvas and data-driven), Power Automate, BI, Teams, and Forms
- Power Automate integration with SharePoint, Forms, and PowerApps.
- SharePoint add-ins, SQL Server, MS Net Framework, HTML, Power Shell, JavaScript, jQuery, PowerShell, APIs, and RPAs.
- Proficient in quickly learning and implementing code and 3rd party add-ons compatible with SharePoint including Skybow, Nintex, and other tools.
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint supporting architecture, infrastructure, and related concepts, i.e., IIS, SQL, Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Exchange Server, PowerShell Scripting
