Location/Remote: Hybrid remote in Englewood, CO 80112 (i.e., 4 days onsite/week)


Employment Type: 9-month W-2 contract (eligible to extend for multiple years)


Compensation: up to $75/hour W-2

About the Role:


We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role is a backfill for a departing contractor and will focus on supporting our Kubernetes (CaaS) environment, managing bare metal Linux provisioning, and driving CI/CD automation. You will work with a modern technology stack, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Terraform, Python, and Ansible, to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and automate bare metal Linux provisioning using tools like MaaS, Ironic, and AWS Tinkerbell.
  • Ensure the stability and performance of our bare metal infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the management and orchestration of our Kubernetes environment, focusing on pods, containers, and related technologies.
  • Work within our CaaS team to support application deployments and scalability.
  • Work with Openshift.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Automate infrastructure deployments and configuration management.
  • Scripting and Automation of Linux related tasks.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments and efficient infrastructure management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our DevOps practices.


Required Experience:


  • Strong Linux system administration skills (no kernel modification expertise required).
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience with bare metal provisioning tools (MaaS, Ironic, AWS Tinkerbell).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python.
  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Experience with OpenShift.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
