POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager serves as a subject matter expert and resource on projects that require advanced technical knowledge, in addition to ensuring that the plant equipment is always operational and in safe working condition, to prevent production down time. The manager is also responsible for the development, coordination and execution of maintenance related capital budget items in concert with engineering.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that all daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules are followed and completed.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to assess maintenance team productivity and equipment performance.
  • Manage and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed maintenance records, including equipment logs, work orders, and maintenance histories.
  • Oversee troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize production interruptions.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for complex equipment failures, ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all safety procedures and company policies, ensuring that the team works in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring that all maintenance activities are completed within budget.
  • Identify and implement improvements in processes, systems, and equipment to enhance plant performance and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks and equipment servicing.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed from time to time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises daily Engineering operations team.



QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role, preferably in food manufacturing or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Strong field trouble shooting experience; hands on PLC (500) trouble shoot experience or program writing; able to use Auto CAD, spreadsheet and presentation programs.
  • Ability to think quickly, take initiative, think creatively and challenge team to do the same.
  • Knowledge and experience of Lean/Six-Sigma, GMP, SSOP, ISO and ERP system are highly preferred.
  • Familiar with MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to interact with different levels of employees/peers.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, GMP).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.



LANGUAGE SKILLS

The individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English. Bilingual in English-Chinese or English-Spanish is a plus.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The individual must apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
