Staff Software Engineer – Full Stack
Our client is revolutionizing airspace safety with scalable drone detection and airspace management technology. They provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various industries. As they expand, they are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with leadership experience and a strong background in full-stack development to help drive innovation in Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems (C-UAS) and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM).
Location: Hybrid or on-site in Syracuse, NY
Salary: $130-150K, based on experience
Travel: Up to 10 percent
Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, gather requirements, and implement features
- Mentor engineers and provide guidance on coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices
- Identify and resolve technical challenges related to system performance, reliability, and scalability
- Ensure security best practices and compliance with industry regulations
- Drive process improvements, including automation and infrastructure upgrades
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Ten or more years of software development experience
- Expertise in cloud-based architectures and containerized environments
- Proficiency in Linux-based development, specifically C++ and Python
- Strong database experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
- Experience with sensor technology and scalable IoT architectures
- Software architecture and design pattern expertise
- Mobile app development experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in Ubuntu development
- Additional experience with mobile applications
