We have an Oil & Gas client seeking to hire a Construction Estimator to join their team based in Houston, TX . In this role, you will be responsible for estimating total installed capital costs for various industrial projects, including hydrogen facilities, air separation plants, and packaged plants.


  • Must-have experience: Advanced experience with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator / Demonstrated ability to lead full EPC lump sum proposals and projects over $1B estimated value

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for capital projects ranging from $10M to over $1B.
  • Develop estimate plans and coordinate with Proposals, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams.
  • Serve as an internal expert on estimating methods and ensure consistency across projects.
  • Generate full cost estimates from conceptual AACEI Class V to detailed Class II estimates.
  • Review procurement pricing, contractor bids, and bulk material costs.
  • Provide risk analysis, contingency recommendations, and quality assurance for estimates.
  • Lead and mentor junior estimators while promoting best practices in cost estimating.
  • Present estimate review packages to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Support the development of estimate benchmarks and historical performance comparisons.
  • Ensure estimates align with project scope, risk assessment, and execution strategies.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction estimating, specifically for large-scale industrial projects.
  • Expertise in Aspen Capital Cost Estimator and EPC lump sum proposals over $1B.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to assess estimates and historical data.
  • Proven ability to manage multinational estimating teams and coordinate across locations.
  • Experience delivering cost estimates for global projects.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including executive-level reporting.
  • Ability to develop estimates for modular scope projects and mentor junior estimators.
  • Strong understanding of both direct and indirect cost elements in construction estimates.
