Z. Wilson Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Attorney on behalf of our client, a leading national healthcare services company headquartered in Nashville, TN. With $5 billion in revenue and a nationwide network of hospitals and outpatient centers, our client is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring compliance with complex healthcare regulations.
Position Summary
The Healthcare Attorney will play a key role in reviewing complex contracts and providing legal counsel on a broad range of healthcare operational and regulatory matters. This individual will support the company and its affiliated healthcare operations by advising on physician and hospital contracts, compliance issues, and general corporate matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare operations and a strong understanding of industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to hospital and corporate leadership on healthcare operations, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, employment matters, medical staff issues, and patient concerns.
- Collaborate with senior counsel to develop and implement system policies and procedures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct legal analysis and advise business stakeholders on contractual terms and associated risks.
- Assist with compliance investigations in coordination with the Compliance Department.
- Support the development of policies and best practices to align with company goals and legal requirements, including competitive bidding processes, contract templates, and legal risk management strategies.
- Utilize legal expertise to facilitate dispute resolution with third parties.
- Stay current with legal and industry developments to enhance professional knowledge and the delivery of legal services.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in healthcare law, including but not limited to EMTALA, HIPAA, Stark Law, ACA, fraud and abuse laws, healthcare regulatory compliance, and hospital governance.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, with a focus on hospital and physician agreements.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, government reimbursement programs, and value-based care initiatives.
- Prior experience in a law firm setting is required.
