Job Overview:

Jaunty is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our rapidly growing team. This role will support key human resources functions, including payroll and benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, and HR operations. The ideal candidate has experience working in a company with at least 30 employees and possesses strong knowledge of federal and New York State labor laws. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Location: Onsite – Troy, NY.

Reports To: VP of Human Resources


Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and administration, including health insurance, 401(k), and other employee programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries.

Compliance & HR Operations

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and ensure company policies and practices align with federal and NY state regulations.
  • Oversee employee records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection policies.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of company policies and employee handbook updates.

Employee Relations & Support

  • Act as a resource for employees regarding HR-related concerns, fostering a positive and compliant work environment.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and departing employees.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Human Resources on performance management and employee development initiatives.

General HR & Administrative Support

  • Maintain HRIS and other HR-related systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Assist the VP of Human Resources on recruiting efforts, including screening resumes and scheduling interviews.


Requirements:

  • 2 years of HR experience, particularly in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Proven knowledge of federal and New York State labor laws and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience in an HR role.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • SHRM and/or PHR certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy and experience using the MS Office Suite is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
