Position Summary
A growing biotech company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced analytical/bioanalytical chemist to support in vitro and in vivo studies focused on ADME-related challenges. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in cellular incubation, biological sample extraction, and advanced analytical techniques. This role requires significant lab work and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
This position is based at our headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area and requires onsite presence four days per week per company policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sample incubation for cellular uptake and metabolite profiling assays.
- Conduct biological sample preparation and LC-MS analysis.
- Process raw data, write study reports, and maintain electronic lab notebook (ELN) records.
- Contribute to bioanalytical method development and drug metabolite identification.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of samples, reagents, and experimental details.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field, with at least 2 years of industry or academic lab experience.
- Knowledge of drug metabolism and ADME principles.
- Experience with cell incubation techniques.
- Proficiency in LC-MS, LC-UV quantification of drugs, metabolites, or xenobiotics.
- Strong record-keeping and communication skills, including maintaining ELN records.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad.
- Experience with Sciex and Thermo mass spectrometers and software such as Analyst and Xcalibur is highly desirable.
