QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma
Accredited college work in Education, Recreation, Physical Education or related field preferred.
Work experience in a structured environment preferred.
JOB GOAL:
Plan, organize, and teach a specific skill or activity to a variety of groups on a daily basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the safety of all staff members and campers assigned to the activity. Supervises, monitors, participates, and teaches a specific skill or activity such as arts and crafts, sports, dance, and rec room. Provides positive feedback to campers to help them master the activity. Guides campers towards excellence. Supervises, monitors, and participates in the end of camp show. Models appropriate Christian behavior at all times. Evaluates the counselors assigned to their activity group. Attends weekly after camp meetings. Completes other duties assigned by the Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director(s). REPORTS TO: The Specialty/Activity Counselor reports directly to the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director(s).
EVALUATION: The Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director(s) will evaluate the Specialty/Activity Counselor weekly. The evaluation will be based on successfully completing the responsibilities listed above.
