Basic Qualifications

Experience with C / C++
Familiarity with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Experience with microcontrollers

Experience with a lab environment including typical tools used (Oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers)
Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM discipline

Job Description

We are Lockheed Martin

As an Embedded Software Engineer within the Safety Critical Systems team supporting Advanced Development Programs, also known as Skunkworks, you will play a crucial role in developing the next generation of software on current and future aerospace systems.

This position involves close collaboration with hardware engineers and other mission system teams to ensure that the mission operations of the platform are met reliably and safely. Your work will require a mix of technical expertise, integration acumen, and innovative solutions to directly impact the ability for our current and future platforms to meet our customer’s most pressing needs and enable 21st century security.

Beyond this, you may also:

  1. Work on target hardware to ensure our systems meet reliability, availability, and security requirements.
  2. Establish implementations and collaborate on software designs to meet Multi-Level Security requirements.
  3. Work throughout the entire software development lifecycle from initial architectural through design, implementation, integration, and delivery of your software components eventually supporting lab operations, flight test, and customer use.

Desired Skills

Experience with FPGAs (VHDL and/or Verilog)
Experience with computer networking
Experience with GIT
Experience with Xilinx SoCs (System on Chip)
Experience with communication protocols (I2C, CAN, RS422 and similar)

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
