Utility-Scale Solar Engineering Manager
Location: Flexible (Remote/Hybrid) – Requires 1 week per month of travel

About the Role:
We are seeking a Utility-Scale Solar Technical Engineering Manager to lead the engineering efforts on large-scale renewable energy projects. This role will provide technical expertise in solar PV, energy modeling, and electrical system design while mentoring junior engineers and driving projects from early-stage development through Issued for Construction (IFC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, PVsyst analysis, and BESS integration .
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering efforts for utility-scale solar and storage projects from feasibility through construction.
- Review and optimize electrical schematics (AC/DC), layouts, and system designs.
- Conduct energy modeling and performance analysis using PVsyst and other relevant tools.
- Oversee and coordinate interconnection studies, permitting, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering team development.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and construction teams to ensure project success.
- Drive LEAN processes and innovation in system design to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Support BESS integration efforts and ensure compatibility with solar PV systems.
- Travel one week per month to project sites or company offices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering with a focus on utility-scale solar (1MW-10MW+).
- Strong knowledge of PV system design, energy modeling (PVsyst), and electrical schematics .
- Experience managing projects from early-stage (10%) through IFC .
- AC/DC electrical engineering expertise , including power systems and interconnections.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
- Strong understanding of BESS systems (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with industry codes, permitting processes, and grid interconnection requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
