Job Title: Dermatology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Outpatient Clinic & Aesthetics
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Dermatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic outpatient clinic and aesthetics practice. This role blends traditional dermatologic care with advanced aesthetic procedures, ensuring our patients receive comprehensive, high-quality treatment for both medical and cosmetic skin concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluation & Management:
- Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and skin assessments.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of dermatologic conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, and other common skin disorders.
Aesthetic Procedures:
- Perform cosmetic treatments such as Botox injections, dermal fillers, chemical peels, laser therapies, and other minimally invasive procedures.
- Collaborate with the dermatology team to develop individualized aesthetic treatment plans.
Clinical Procedures & Interventions:
- Assist with or perform minor dermatologic surgeries and procedures under the supervision of a dermatologist as needed.
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests (e.g., skin biopsies, cultures) to guide patient treatment.
Patient Education & Follow-up:
- Provide comprehensive patient education on skin health, disease prevention, and post-procedure care.
- Develop and maintain individualized care plans, ensuring proper follow-up and continuity of care.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with dermatologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure integrated care delivery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards and clinic protocols.
Quality Assurance & Professional Development:
- Stay current with the latest developments in dermatology and aesthetic treatments by participating in ongoing education and professional training.
- Ensure adherence to all clinical guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (NP) or completion of a Physician Assistant program (PA).
- Current state licensure and board certification or eligibility in Dermatology, Family Medicine, or a related specialty.
Experience:
- Proven experience in outpatient dermatology practice with a strong background in medical dermatology and cosmetic/aesthetic procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing aesthetic treatments and minor dermatologic procedures.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and procedural skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred:
- Additional certifications or specialized training in aesthetic medicine and laser procedures.
- Familiarity with the latest FDA-approved cosmetic treatments and technologies.
