Evanston Dental is looking for a Dental Assistant in Evanston, Illinois to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.

Position Overview:
As a Dental Assistant, you are an integral part of the care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Type: Part-time/Full-time

We would like this position to begin April 7, 2025, on a Part-time basis and go Full-time April 22, 2025.

Schedule: M-F

M 6:30am-5:00pm; T 7:30am-5pm; W 7:00am-3:30pm; Th 8:00am-5:30pm; F 6:30am-1:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
  • Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation).
  • Must have at least three years of hands-on experience.
  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended, but not needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
