We are accepting applications for Seasonal Worker in our Utilities Department. Seasonal work typically starts in May or June and runs through August or September.

Work is performed for either the city’s Water Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), or WWTP Laboratory. These departments work Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, no weekends.

  • Water Plant: Duties include mostly outdoor work, mowing and trimming the lawn, painting fire hydrants, assisting full-time staff with preventative maintenance work, and general cleaning. Travel to various worksites throughout the city requires the ability to drive a truck while towing a utility trailer.
  • WWTP: Duties include mostly outdoor work, mowing and trimming the lawn at the plant and at lift stations around the city. Other duties include painting, general cleaning, and light maintenance projects. Travel to various worksites throughout the city requires the ability to drive a truck while towing a utility trailer.
  • WWTP Lab: Duties are mainly indoors, performing data entry, filing, recordkeeping, and copy editing. Also performs general cleaning in the lab and plant. May assist other WWTP seasonal workers with the duties listed above.

All positions are paid at a rate of $13.50/hr. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
