Authority: As a Wound Nurse Manager (RN/LPN), you are accountable for executing your responsibilities in alignment with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties
    • Oversee daily functions of nursing staff according to facility policies and regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with nursing procedures and periodic reviews of departmental guidelines.
    • Prepare and participate in inspections and quality assurance efforts.
  • Charting & Documentation
    • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely documentation of admissions, transfers, and discharges.
    • Review and verify physician orders and nursing notes for compliance with established guidelines.
  • Drug Administration
    • Oversee medication management, ensuring proper stock and accurate records.
  • Personnel Management
    • Participate in staff evaluations and address staffing needs.
    • Provide leadership and conduct regular rounds to monitor staff performance.
  • Nursing Care
    • Inform staff of new admissions and ensure readiness of rooms.
    • Monitor and implement care plans while ensuring compliance with resident care standards.
  • Staff Development
    • Assist in developing training programs and ensure effective orientation for new nursing staff.
  • Safety and Sanitation
    • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state.
  • Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with residents, families, and staff tactfully.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the facility and perform tasks that require lifting and assisting residents.
  • Must be able to work under stress and manage challenging situations effectively.
