12+ Months Responsibilities: Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs. Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Support virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, and others). Manage storage (Netapp, Dell/EMC, PureStorage, and others). Support infra automation tools (Ansible). Manage system inventory system (GLPI). Manage network equipment (Cisco, Mellanox, and others). Install and configure systems supporting infrastructure and/or R&D activities. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Configure/maintain storage equipment and troubleshoot with vendors. Configure/install EDA tools, FlexLM licenses, and troubleshoot software tool issues. Contribute to and maintain system standards and security posture. Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks. Install and maintain security patches on operational and development systems, including but not limited to Red Hat Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.), Windows, VMWare, and Apache web services. Report Security Patch compliance. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Perform daily backup operations and manage file archival and purge. Create, change, and delete user accounts as necessary. Provide Tier III support per request from various constituencies. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly, and configure/add new services as necessary. Manage existing and/or deploy new instances of JIRA, Git, LDAP, Jenkins, VMWare environments. Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. After hours and weekend support may be required. JOB REQUIREMENTS High skill level in VMware administration and management, including Jenkins, GIT, and DevOps tool administration. Network equipment management, preferably Cisco equipment. 5+ years of system administration experience in Linux environments, proficient in shell scripting, managing user accounts, configuring iptables, and setting up mail services. Proven ability to multi-task. Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with technical and non-technical personnel. CompTIA Security+ (SY0-301) or equivalent certification required. Able to lift 50 lbs and move servers as needed. Install new hardware or migrate existing servers (rack and stack). Seniority Level
