Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Teaching Vacancy for the 2025- 2026 School Year The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. Position: Special Education Teacher (Language Based) Location: McCarthy Middle School The primary responsibility of this position is working with students whose learning is impacted by language-based disabilities. Programming will focus on teaching and supporting students with language-based disabilities in the areas of reading and written expression. Services will be provided in a combination of an inclusive and small group pull-out setting. Specialized reading instruction utilizing a multi-sensory rule governed phonetic based program such OG, Wilson, LiPs will be required. This position requires strong collaboration with the general education team teachers and related service providers with whom students are shared. This teaching position provides middle school students with language-based disabilities specialized instruction based upon their individual Educational Plans. The position will require the successful candidate to work to facilitate instruction specific to the needs of the assigned students. This position includes the use of evidence-based assessment and intervention practices in the prevention, assessment, intervention, and program design efforts that are integrated within a school. In this role the special educator must also be able to manage support staff, work collaboratively with various service providers and oversee the scheduling of staff and students. Collaboration with language based program special education teachers at other grade levels. Participation in consultation with outside LB consultant to support the programming. Willingness to participate in trainings to strengthen programming and curriculum for students within the LB program. - Design, supervise and implement students' IEP plans - Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations and provide training to assure implementation in the general education classroom. - Participate in IEP Team meetings. - Write effective IEPs for students - Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress - Effectively work with a team of professionals to coordinate services - Consult with general education teacher and related service providers. - Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion. - Write quarterly progress reports for IEP goals that are data based on student performance. - Undertake various diagnostic testing that identifies student capabilities and recognize student progress on timely basis
