The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking an academic hematologist to serve as chief of the division of cancer hematology, a unit within the department of medical oncology. This role will report to the Chair of Medical Oncology. The position is based in both the Department of Medical Oncology at DFCI and the Department of Medicine at the BWH and includes collaboration with other institutions affiliated with the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and the Harvard Medical School.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop clinical programs for the division of cancer hematology focusing on the hematological needs of cancer patients.
  2. Promote multidisciplinary care with other departments at HMS and its affiliated institutions.
  3. Conduct research to advance the field of cancer hematology.
  4. Recruit and train faculty in the division.
  5. Train appropriate students, residents, fellows, and faculty affiliated with Dana-Farber.
  6. Contribute to strategic and leadership efforts at Dana-Farber commensurate with the division chief role.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Board-eligible or board-certified in hematology.
  2. International reputation for outstanding clinical care and research excellence in the hematological concerns of cancer patients.
  3. Record of leadership in the development of multicenter clinical trials in hematology.
  4. Extensive experience and a national/international reputation as a clinical educator in cancer hematology.
  5. Managerial and collaborative skills to work across disciplinary boundaries.
  6. Academic and scholarly record consistent with appointment as Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
