Job Description: Summary: The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions participates actively in the recruitment and selection of prospective students for the Washington College of Law’s J.D., LL.M, and SJD programs. In conjunction with the Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for all facets of graduate admissions, including applicant advisement and outreach. The position is also responsible for day-to-day communication with prospective and admitted students and participates in admission decisions and the financial aid determination and review process. Essential Functions: Serves as Primary Point of Contact for Prospective Students in LL.M, SJD, and Exchange Programs Responds to inquiries from prospective students via email, phone, and in-person meetings, providing detailed program information. Guides applicants through the admissions process, offering support on application requirements, deadlines, and program details. Build relationships with prospective students, maintaining consistent engagement from initial inquiry through enrollment. Manages the Planning and Execution of Multiple Recruitment and Yield Events Organizes and executes graduate information sessions, online webinars, and on-campus open houses. Coordinates both on- and off-campus admitted student events to enhance yield and engagement. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and alumni to participate in events and provide insight into programs. Represents WCL at Recruiting Events, Panels, and Information Sessions Attends domestic and international recruitment events to promote WCL programs. Serves as a panelist or speaker at admissions-related events, providing program insights. Engages with prospective students and applicants, addressing questions and concerns. Develops Admissions Materials and Manages Online Content Creates and updates brochures, letters, forms, and social media content for admissions outreach. Monitors and maintains accuracy of the Office of Graduate Admissions’ web pages related to recruitment, financial aid, and exchange programs. Enhances the usability and content of the website to improve the applicant experience. Reviews Admissions Files and Participates in Decision-Making Evaluates application materials for LL.M., SJD, and exchange programs. Assesses applicant credentials and provides recommendations on admissibility. Ensures admissions decisions align with program standards and institutional goals. Coordinates and Helps Plan New Student Orientation Develops and executes orientation programs for incoming students. Provides guidance on academic requirements, housing, and financial aid. Supports new students in their transition by addressing concerns and providing necessary resources. Analyzes Enrollment Data for Recruitment and Admissions Growth Conducts data analysis to identify trends in enrollment and recruitment. Tracks, evaluates, and leads through the admissions pipeline to measure recruitment effectiveness. Uses data insights to inform future recruitment and yield strategies. Manages CRM System Operations for Admissions Oversees daily CRM system functions, including decision release and event management. Maintains admissions forms, communications, and data integrations. Ensures smooth operation of CRM-related business processes to optimize admissions workflow. Supervisory Responsibility:
Manages one Graduate Assistant (10 hrs/week). Competencies: Developing Plans. Making Accurate Judgments and Decisions. Championing Customer Needs. Evaluating and Implementing Ideas. Building and Supporting Teams. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time. 35 hours per week. Exempt. Salary Range:
$60,000-$65,000 annually. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 3-5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of and experience in admissions, as shown by a successful track record of progressively more responsible work in this field. Knowledge of LL.M programs or equivalent experience. Self-direction and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Analytic and problem-solving skills. Creativity. Ability to weigh and balance multiple goals and responsibilities. Excellent communication abilities, both orally and in writing. Familiarity with F-1 and J-1 visa regulations. Strong computer and web experience. Preferred Education and Experience: Juris Doctor or equivalent. Experience working in an office at an institution of higher education. Evidence of intercultural experience. Ability to work and communicate with students and professionals from diverse legal and cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of a second language. Experience with the Law School Admissions Council’s ACES 2 Database preferred. Experience working with a CRM. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
