The Opportunity The Senior Director of Public Relations & Communications will oversee the development and execution of earned media marketing strategies to promote Good360’s mission, vision, and values. This position comes at a time of substantial growth and an increased focus on increasing brand awareness, strengthening partnerships, and increasing engagement of Good360 nationwide. The leader will have one social media manager direct report and will report to the Chief Marketing Fundraising Officer.

Roles And Responsibilities The Senior Director of Public Relations and Communications role focuses on managing the organization's public image, media relations, and storytelling to drive engagement, awareness, and support for its mission. Responsibilities include: Media & Public Relations Develop compelling narratives that demonstrate the impact of Good360 on community resilience and recovery. Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, media outlets to place op-eds, interviews. Build and maintain relationships with donor, nonprofit, and foundation contacts to co-collaborate on promotional opportunities and joint press releases. Write and distribute press releases, op-eds, media pitches, and blogs. Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and speaking engagements. Monitor media coverage and track PR impact. Write speeches, talking points, and thought leadership articles for executives. Social Media & Digital Communications Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with the nonprofit’s goals. Manage social media accounts, ensuring regular engagement with followers. Work cross-functionally with the director of content to include graphics, videos, and infographics. Manage social media accounts manager to ensure seamless execution and consistent tracking and reporting. Analyze social media metrics to optimize performance. Crisis Communications & Reputation Management Develop and implement crisis communication plans if needed. Act as a spokesperson or prepare leadership for media inquiries during crises, including providing consulting on response and strategic talking points. Monitor public sentiment and address reputational risks proactively. Internal Communications Keep staff and volunteers informed on relevant events and earned media through newsletters, intranet, and meetings. Align internal messaging with external Public Relations efforts. Organize media training for key spokespeople.

Qualifications 10+ years with a proven track record of successfully managing and executing comprehensive communications strategies for nonprofits across multiple platforms. Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and trends, including social media, SEO, email marketing, and analytics. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop talent. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Experience with fundraising and donor engagement strategies is highly preferred. Ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach to executing plans.
