You will be the Software Engineer Staff for the Mission Systems and Software team. Our team is within Mission Control Systems organization under Combat Systems and uses a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products for Advanced Development Programs. The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program) is looking for world class talent in Software Development and Testing to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75+ year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development.


What You Will Be Doing

As the Software Engineer Staff you will be responsible for all phases of developing software solutions for Command & Control Systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Generating requirements, system and software design and implementation
  2. Integrating and flight test events
  3. Adjudicating change requests as the software is updated, tested, and integrated.
  4. Participating in integration activities that will include a multitude of host systems, such as live assets of varying capability and structure, simulated systems, and laboratory environments that include constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. C++ or C# programming experience
  2. Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

Desired Skills:

  1. Object Oriented Programming
  2. Agile Software Development
  3. Team Leadership Experience (e.g. Scrum Master)
  4. Software Development Tools (e.g. Visual Studio)
  5. Atlassian Tools (e.g. Stash, Jira)
  6. Experience in OMS/UCI messaging
  7. UI/UX Software Development
  8. Experience in QT (or a strong emphasis on graphical user interfaces)
  9. Experience with Complex Algorithms
  10. Service Oriented Architecture Knowledge
  11. Linux and Windows operating systems
  12. Configuration Management Systems (e.g. Git)
  13. System test and Integration experience
  14. Practical knowledge and skills of messaging systems (e.g. ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka)

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
