$30.00/hr - $40.00/hr Description Burlingame Aquatic Club (BAC) is recruiting for a part-time Head Coach (HC) for Masters Swimming who will manage the operations of BAC’s Masters swimming program. The HC will be responsible for on-deck coaching of 6-8 practices weekly, managing part-time assistant coaches, program creation and implementation, competition schedule, customer service, event coordination, and the general administrative needs of the team. The candidate must be knowledgeable and up to date on current swim techniques and training methodologies, and be an expert communicator and team player. The HC will ensure a safe training environment while focusing on the success of both individuals and the overall team while also being expected to spend time planning and marketing for club growth. This application is for part-time employment only and is not eligible for benefits. The candidate will be required to work early mornings (5 a.m.-7 a.m.), days, weekends, and/or holidays and will fill staffing vacancies as needed. BAC is an equal opportunity employer. Ideal Candidate The ideal Head Coach will: Have 5+ years of swim coaching experience. Possess leadership skills to train and lead a small team of part-time coaches. Plan, organize, assign, schedule, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff to deliver high-quality coaching; ensure assigned staff are properly trained in program operations; motivate assigned staff to perform at high levels; set performance goals and measurements with the help of the Executive Director. Be able to communicate swiftly and effectively. Maintain excellent communication with program participants; receive and respond to complaints and inquiries; maintain policies and procedures; new member recruitment and cultivation; engage with the team to ensure a high level of morale. Possess great organizational skills and teamwork ability. Build excellent working relationships with coworkers and patrons. Manage Masters swim team’s administrative needs: plan and implement social media posts, membership maintenance and statistics, handle new member inquiries and email. Be able to Open/Close the BAC facilities when needed. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities are qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 5+ years of swim coaching experience. Competitive swimming experience at the club/collegiate/professional level. Licenses and Certifications Possession of a valid California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Possession of a valid US Masters Swimming coach certification. Possession of a valid Red Cross Lifeguard certification, or completion of certification within 90 days of hire (Provided by BAC). Compensation The hourly base pay range for this role is between $30-$40. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set.
