We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Permanent Director of Finance in our rapidly growing healthcare company. This position will oversee all financial aspects of the company, including day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and maintaining internal controls. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our executive team, providing strategic financial guidance to ensure our continued growth and success.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. 2. Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process. 3. Prepare and review financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance. 4. Lead and manage the accounting team, which includes five direct reports. 5. Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit and other engagements. 6. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. 7. Monitor and report on cash flow and liquidity. 8. Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations. 9. Monitor fiscal performance to ensure compliance with accounting standards. 10. Monitor contracts to ensure compliance with government and contract requirements. 11. Maintain adequate insurance coverage. 12. Assist with the timely recording of accounts payable invoices and preparation of property taxes. 13. Maintain the company's capital assets and associated depreciation accounts. 14. Assist with real estate acquisitions and improvements. 15. Provide support to the CFO and other senior leaders as needed. 16. Assist with the Board of Directors audit committee with the selection of financial auditors.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA is highly preferred. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the healthcare industry. 3. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 4. Experience in managing an accounting team. 5. Proficient in using accounting software and experience overseeing financial and data processing systems. 6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information and complex financial concepts to non-financial managers. 7. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results. 8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
