Hitachi Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are located in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Hitachi Astemo, inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.
Tasks and Responsibilities
: Assist in ensuring department business goals are accomplished. Lead safety coordinator, safety team, emergency team and implement safety improvements. Daily and weekly inspections of plant, equipment, and associate behaviors. Ensures associate safety and environmental training is completed. Ensures compliance to OSHA regulations, and other regulatory compliance requirements. Safety environmental training as well as ISO 14001 auditing and training. Responsible for maintaining the Emergency Management System as part of ISO 14001 Maintain state compliance as designated Radiation Safety Officer. Responsible for accuracy of record keeping regards to safety programs and environmental. Adherence to company budget to ensure profitability and efficiencies are obtained. Ensure both legal and ethical obligations are meant. When accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.
Safety & Environmental:
Promotes a safety-first attitude and provides safe work environment by obtaining knowledge and then following all required OSHA regulations which may or may not include Personal Protective Equipment, LOTO, Crane, Powered Lifts, Machine Guarding, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Respirator, Hearing conservation, Confined Spaces, and others. Coordinates safety and environment repair activities. Quality :
Maintain and update all USRSP1 Global Accounts for HSE. Maintain all OSHA documentation for yearly reporting. Report all incidents or accidents requiring medical attention to Worker's Comp Agency in a timely manner. Update, maintain, and report all environmental accidents or incidents to the appropriate Federal, State, or County representative. Be trained for ISO: 14001 and ISO: 45001 Train and maintain for Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Delivery

Ensures that all product that is being shipped to customers internally or externally is being made safely and in a timely manner. Productivity :
Works towards overall goals of meeting the defined targets project completion. This includes the Company HSE Business Plan and Global HSE goals. Reporting:
Reports directly to Head of EHS, secondary reporting to Head of Operations. Global reporting directly to Corporate HSE Director Create and / or support reports to Customers, Supplier, Internal Management, and Global as needed. Be able to present department material in-house as needed. Be able to present to large groups, in a classroom setting, or to an individual. Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
Ability to work with others in a team environment. Good problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships. Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Minimum Experienced Preferred:
Previous Safety Management experience or experience in related field High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Key Metrics Responsibility:
Safety Recordables Environmental compliance and reporting Sets Business Plan goals annually. On-time reporting of DART, OSHA, Training, Audits, PPE Patrols, 5Y Investigations. Radiation Safety Compliance (State Level) Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, to use hand to finger; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear.
