Technical Support Specialist I

8 hours per day,

220 days/year

: $25.76 - $28.13 per hour

DESCRIPTION: The Technical Support Specialist (TSS I) is a service-oriented and self-motivated IT support position. The TSS will work on maintaining and monitoring the computer systems and networks for the Wenatchee School District. Tasks include solving complex technical issues and collaborating with end-users across all departments to assist them with their technical requirements. Technical Support Specialist is the first responder for support in the building with technical assistance issues and computer classroom and lab operations. Support will be communicated with program administration for daily support requirements and operational status. Operational Technology is also responsible for instructional support in classrooms using technology equipment and labs for staffing requirements. Communications with staff of work order status. Recommend improvements to technical operations, implementation of technology-related projects with instructional and operational focuses, global district technology goals. Equipment and Software Management: Setup and configure new or reallocated computer hardware, printers and associated peripherals into areas of assigned responsibility at the building level; Install/reinstall and configure software according to WSD software standards; Operational checks for existing computers, printers and associated peripherals in accordance with WSD hardware standards; Assist with deployment of student computer imaging, student and group accounts, and student assessment testing. Responsible for following Operational Technology Policies and Procedures. Other duties as assigned. Attendance and punctuality are critical.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum A.A. degree in computer related discipline or two years documented experience. A Washington State Patrol Criminal History Information Form, required by RCW 43.43.830; Must hold or have the ability to acquire a valid Washington State driver's license. Knowledge and use of computer operating systems and concepts for Macintosh and Windows operating systems; Ability to read and understand manuals for software and hardware applicable to district policies and standards. This position requires the ability to stoop, kneel, bend, turn and reach. Physical exertion to manually move, lift, and carry equipment will be required. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The ability to relate well with students and staff is required, as contact will occur frequently. This position may require working in crowded areas, where noise is moderate

180 - 219 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

220 - 259 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 3 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

260 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.

Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
