Medical professional specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of conditions affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive organs. This role requires comprehensive clinical knowledge, proficiency in surgical techniques, and an ability to provide compassionate care to patients with a variety of urological conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions of the urinary tract, kidneys, bladder, prostate, and male reproductive organs.
- Manage a range of urological conditions such as urinary incontinence, kidney stones, bladder disorders, prostate diseases (e.g., BPH, prostate cancer), erectile dysfunction, and infertility.
- Perform physical exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and recommend treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and other therapeutic interventions based on clinical diagnosis.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing urological surgeries.
- Offer counseling and education to patients regarding preventive care, treatment options, and lifestyle changes to improve urological health.
- Perform both minimally invasive (e.g., laparoscopic, robotic) and open urological surgeries.
- Perform prostatectomies, nephrectomies, cystectomies, bladder augmentations, and other urological surgeries.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety during procedures.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a Urology residency program.
- Board Certification or eligibility in Urology (or equivalent certification, if applicable).
- Valid medical license to practice in Illinois.
